1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NystBot ("NystBot", "we", "our", or "us") processes information when you use the NystBot Discord bot or NystBot web dashboard.

NystBot provides Discord community-management features such as moderation, AutoMod, logging, tickets, applications, scheduled messages, self-role menus, leveling, custom commands, EVE Online tools, Black Desert tools, events, and other server-management features.

2. Information NystBot may process

The information processed depends on which NystBot modules a Discord server chooses to enable. NystBot may process or store:

• Discord user IDs, usernames, display names, avatars, and related account identifiers.
• Discord server IDs, channel IDs, role IDs, permissions, and server configuration.
• Commands and interactions submitted to NystBot.
• Moderation records such as warnings, timeouts, bans, reasons, and moderator identifiers.
• Application and recruitment answers submitted through NystBot forms.
• Ticket information and messages needed to operate configured ticket features.
• Suggestions and other content intentionally submitted to NystBot.
• Leveling information including XP, level, eligible message count, and activity timestamps.
• EVE Online data created inside NystBot, such as Fleet Ups, RSVPs, fits, and doctrines.
• Black Desert data created inside NystBot, such as guild events and attendance.
• Custom commands, role-menu configuration, scheduled messages, reminders, and other server settings.

3. Message content

Some optional features, including AutoMod, message logging, custom-command handling, and leveling, may need to inspect Discord messages in servers where those features are enabled.

NystBot does not use message content for advertising. Message information is processed only as needed to provide the enabled Discord server features. Depending on the configured feature, some content may also be stored in logs, moderation records, tickets, applications, or other NystBot data.

4. Discord OAuth and the web dashboard

The NystBot dashboard uses Discord OAuth2 for sign-in. The dashboard may receive information such as your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and the list of Discord servers available to your account.

NystBot uses this information to identify you and determine which NystBot servers you are allowed to manage. NystBot does not receive or store your Discord password.

OAuth access tokens are kept server-side as part of the authenticated web session and are not intentionally exposed to other dashboard users.

5. Why we process information

NystBot processes information to:

• Provide bot commands and server-management features.
• Apply moderation and AutoMod rules configured by server administrators.
• Operate tickets, applications, events, reminders, scheduled messages, and role menus.
• Provide XP, rankings, leaderboards, and configured reward roles.
• Keep server settings and feature data available across bot restarts.
• Protect the service, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
• Authenticate users and authorize access to the NystBot dashboard.

6. How information is stored

NystBot currently stores server data in persistent files on infrastructure operated for NystBot. Data is separated by Discord server ID.

Authentication encryption keys and other operational information may also be stored on NystBot infrastructure. Secrets such as the Discord bot token and Discord OAuth client secret are not intended to be stored in public website content or public source-code repositories.

7. Data sharing

NystBot does not sell personal information to advertisers.

Information may be shared only when necessary to operate NystBot, comply with applicable law, protect the service or its users, or when the user/server administrator intentionally sends information to Discord through a NystBot feature.

Discord independently processes information under Discord's own terms and privacy policies.

8. Data retention

Retention depends on the feature. Some information remains stored until a server administrator deletes it, the related NystBot feature removes it, or the NystBot operator deletes it following a valid request.

Certain temporary information may be removed automatically. For example, completed or expired data may be archived or trimmed by individual modules. Backups, where used, may retain information for an additional period before being overwritten or deleted.

9. Data access and deletion requests

Discord server administrators may remove or change data through available NystBot commands and dashboard controls where those controls exist.

A request should include enough information to identify the relevant Discord account or server. NystBot may need to verify that the requester is authorized before deleting server-level administrative records.

Signed-in users can also use the My NystBot Data page to request deletion of supported personal participation/profile data.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect NystBot data. However, no internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Children and Discord eligibility

NystBot is intended for people who are permitted to use Discord under Discord's own age requirements and applicable law. NystBot is not intended to independently provide services to children who are not eligible to use Discord.

12. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as NystBot changes. The date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
